| Christopher NewtonChristopher Newton’s law practice focuses on trust and
estate planning, trust and probate administration, business
planning & entity formation, and transactional real
estate. He has represented clients in the planning and
completion of their personal estate plans which are
designed to carry out their wishes during life and after.
He has worked and planned with business owners to develop
and implement legal documents and has created and formed
numerous business entities to expand business operations
and to provide personal asset protection for the owners.
In the real estate area, he frequently represents clients
while they are engaged in residential and commercial
purchases and leasing and assists them in developing
and reviewing contracts and other legal documents to
protect their rights and interests.
Christopher
Newton brings a variety of prior business, financial, and tax knowledge
& experience to his law practice. After earning a BS in Business
Administration at California State University Los Angeles and an MBA
degree from the University of Southern California, he rose to the
executive levels at Getty Oil Company and served as Planning Manager of
Natural Resources. His career in the energy industry spanned two
decades and focused on planning, finances, and taxation. In addition to
being an attorney at law, he is also a licensed California Real Estate
Broker who managed a large real estate office in the Los Angeles
metropolitan area for a major U.S. real estate firm. Christopher
and his wife Marie reside in La Jolla where he is an active member of
his Rotary Club and has been a leader in the local legal community as
Past President of the La Jolla Bar Association. He has had a number of
articles published on estate planning and real estate. Chris and his
wife have two sons and a grandchild. He enjoys family, golf, tennis, reading, and travel.

| Laurie Gilbert
Laurie Gilbert is a paralegal specializing in
estate planning, trust administration and probate practice. She works closely with Christopher and his clients, drafting estate planning documents and probate pleadings, and handling calendaring and other client services. Laurie comes to Newton & Associates
from the law offices of Lawrence Oleksiewicz in Los Angeles where she also worked in estate planning and probate practice. Laurie received her paralegal
certification in 2004 from the University of West Los Angeles where she
graduated summa cum laude. She holds a BA in History from
Rutgers University. Prior to her legal career, Laurie was a television production
Associate Director and worked for major production companies on such TV shows as “The Cosby Show” and "Grace Under Fire." She
is a member of the Directors Guild of America. Laurie is also a classically trained
